Word search puzzles (also known as “hidden word puzzles”, “word hunt”, or “word find puzzles”) are easy and fun for all ages, and a great way to get familiar with, or reinforce, the vocabulary of the Bible story you are studying.
Each puzzle has a list of words that must be found in the grid of letters. The hidden words are always written in a straight line, but may appear in any direction – horizontally left to right, horizontally right to left, vertically down, vertically up, or diagonally in either direction. Some words may overlap, and any spaces in a phrase are ignored (for example, “The Red Sea” will appear in the grid as “theredsea”. When you find a word (or phrase), you should circle it on the grid and cross it off the list of words on the page.
Download the File – The puzzles are saved in PDF format, so you will need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer in order to open and print the word search documents. Click here for more information on how to download files.
Print the Page – You will need to print one copy of the word search page for each person in your class. Each puzzle comes in color and in black and white. Choose which you prefer, and then print only that page (there is no need to print the whole file). You might also want to print one or two copies of the solutions page. Click here for printing tips.
